Members of two Joyce families must be beaming with pride due to the sensational sporting achievements of cousins Chloe and Cameron Joyce.
The amazing talent of 15-year-old Chloe Joyce has long been identified and she has been rewarded for her hard work and dedication by being chosen to play for the SASI team in tomorrow night’s State League game in Adelaide.
Chloe recently represented South Australia in the U17 National Titles. And to add further to her success, Chloe has also won selection as an Australian player to compete at an International competition in the next few weeks.
Chloe plays for Port A grade in the local netball competition and is coached by Tricia Thoman who can’t speak highly enough of her.
“Chloe is an inspiration to the Port Club and we are all extremley proud of her achievements. She prepares meticulously and her attention to detail at training and in her matches is outstanding,” Thoman said.
Chloe is very modest about her achievements but has a dream and has set a goal to play for the Thunderbirds.
“As her coach she is an absolute joy to be around and she allows me to pick her brain on how certain things are done at State and National levels,” Thoman said.
Chloe’s cousin, 15-year-old Cameron Joyce has made his mark in the sport of hockey and was one of the youngest players at the U18 National titles and still has another two years in this age group.
He has just returned home from representing South Australia in the U18 team.
Cameron won selection in the team after impressing at the trials in Adelaide earlier this year.
Locally he is a star player in the U17 boys and Div 1 men’s competitions representing the Risdon Hockey Club.
